Read more about the impact we make to communities across Southern Africa through education, water sanitation, recycling programmes and female empowerment.

Through our collaboration with our basketware partner we support a community development organisation, founded in 2006, as a response to the identified needs of 52 communities in which their 750 women artisans live.

Their programs focus on empowering  these communities and expanding their impact to more than 20,000 community members in education, health, women's empowerment, water, sanitation and hygiene.

With the environment at the heart of their organisation, our glassware partner recycles around 100 tonnes of broken bottles, reuses 19 tonnes of old newspapers, for shaping the molten glass and for packaging, catches and stores 60 000 litres of rain water, produces around 110 Mwh (Mega Watt hours) of electricity from solar installation, avoiding around 75 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

The team also participates in Black Bag Friday, collecting around 40 bags full of trash, keeping the waste out of their pristine surroundings.
